I was excited to hear that they're testing this type of valve replacement here. Dr. Cowley told us a couple years ago that he was watching the research in Europe. A year ago he told us that Dennis would have his valve replaced that way during his lifetime.

We saw Dr. Cowley last week and Dennis is doing great. Dennis still goes for a check up every 6 months. We go so often so they can keep a close eye on the pacemaker. Dr. Cowley told us Dennis is pacer dependant which I knew put is a little scary to hear. We tease Dennis about being battery powered.

Great story! Thanks for sharing it, from what I've been hearing, it was just a matter of time before they had a procedure for introducing the valves into place. There are quite a few designs being tested for use here in the United States. Some of these FDA trials take years to complete, but its nice to see medical advancements going forward. I'm glad to hear that Dennis is doing so well.
