has anyone had a fetal echo before?

We are expecting another little boy in December and we are scheduled for a fetal echo this afternoon and i'm scared to death! What does it involve? how long does it take?

Because Dade has Pulmonary Stenosis, my OB referred us to the FHP to make sure the new baby doesn't have any problems.

My wife and I just had a baby boy with TOF. My wife had 7 fetal echo's during the pregnancy. A fetal echo is just a more in depth ultrasound of the baby's heart. To you it will be just like another ultrasound. I'm not sure how long yours will take but when my wife had them they took about 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

I hope your baby has a healthy heart and this will be the only one!:)

How did the fetal echo go today? Hope everything was great!

The echo was great-no heart problems....but the baby came 8 weeks early. He's still in the NICU and will be for at least 2-3 more weeks.

I was due on December 21st and had Emmett via emergency C-Section on October 21st.

Whoa Nikki~ That is crazy! How is Emmett doing? Hopefully growing and getting stronger every day! Good luck!

Emmett is great! He was home about 2 weeks and we noticed a bulge in his groin. He has a hernia and is having surgery this Friday at PCMC. When it rains it pours!! We just can't catch a break this year!
