I know many have been concerned because there hasn't been an blog update or a return email from Joey concerning Baby Kathryn Goodson.

Joey expressed gratitude for the wonderful emails and calls of support (you are all the best), but because she is so focused on the needs that both of her daughters have, it hasn’t left her with much time for doing return emails or blog updates, and asked that I send out an update to help calm any worries.

Kathryn was able to come off the ventilator last week, she is still having episodes of de-sating, but is doing well considering. She was stable enough to be moved from the CICU to the Surgical Floor a couple of days ago. Today they are going to be doing a swallow-test and working toward the car-seat test. Things are progressing and their focus is in hopes that they will be able to come home by the weekend.

Once they get home and into a routine, I am sure we will here from Joey as that is when she will really need our support, as we all know it can be overwhelming coming home with a baby that has special needs.

Continued good thoughts and prayers go to the Goodson Family.

Has any one heard how they are doing?

Yesterday I received this email from Joey.

We're on an every 3-hr feeding schedule, and I'm really not adapting to it just yet. These sleepless nights are getting the best of me, though I'm very glad to be having them.

Kat's doing fine thus far ...doing what she's supposed to: gaining weight! She's up to 10lbs as of her appt last week. We go back to the Cardiologist next week, and then she'll have the catheter in 2 weeks. I don't know if I told you, but her pulmonary arteries are fairly small -- the left being smaller than the right. So, they've told us to expect a balloon through the left PA, or possibly even a stint. Hopefully, this will help to hold off her next surgery for a couple more months. I can honestly say, I'm not looking forward to another day spent in Primary's waiting room, but I'm certainly thankful to have a place like Primarys!

Better run ...Kat's not happy in the swing now! :)
