Today was the perfect example of the light at the end of the tunnel! This morning we headed up to Primary for a post op appointment. He was so nervous about taking out that last stitch, so I gave him a Lortab. It made him so sick! He pucked for 3 hours. We also waited for 3 hours to see the Doctor and nurse. It was the longest 3 hours in history! When we finally got to see the doctor, it was all really good news. Chest x-ray very clear, right lung looking good also. Then the really good news! No more oxygen! McKay got the biggest smile and then took off the oxygen hose and threw it down on the table! Then it was time for the big ugly stitch removal. I bet him a chocolate shake it wouldn't be as bad as last week. He said, "Strawberry!" I said it was a deal. 2 seconds later, Annie had the stitch out. He said, "You're done?!" It was pretty funny. We came home with the great news! He is feeling better and really excited for life! He went to his 6th grade graduation yesterday. The teachers showed a slide show. Every time there was a photo of McKay the kids just cheered! When his name was read and he walked under the balloon arch, they also cheered! It made me cry and McKay so happy. He even stayed for the picnic for a hour! A fun day for him! I think he will go to school for the last day! Now he can get ready for scout camp and a bunch of other summer activities! It is so fun to see him excited and feeling so much more endurance and energy! Our Heavenly Father has truly blessed us greatly!
