I just thought I'd post an update about Maddox. He just turned a year on Friday! And this coming Friday (23rd) is his surgery anniversary. I can't believe it! Really I hadn't let myself think that far ahead, so as it got closer I was kind of shocked. Where did the year go?? He has been doing great as far as his heart goes. Function isn't decreasing and Sats are stable. He is growing like crazy too! I was not prepared for that, so many of the docs and nurses told us how hard these kiddos have gaining weight. Thankfully for Maddox it hasn't been a problem. He is in the 40%! His main issue--which is so minor compared to what it could be--is ear infections! We had tubes put in a month ago and had been doing great, but this weekend it started draining. Yucky. Hopefully with the antibiotics he'll be feeling better soon. The other crazy thing about him turning one is that we are closer to 2. Last year when they told us he would have the 3rd surgery after he turned 2 it felt like FOREVER away. Now it seems too close.
