Hi, I talked to one of you at camp, sorry I don't remember which on of you it was. Any how we were talking about Cord Blood Banking and it was mentioned that I may be able to bank it for free for a few yrs.

To everyone else... Have any of you done this? Which company did you go with and why? About what did the costs come to? How did you go about it? Are you glad you did this? Did you find a program to store it for free for a few years?

Any and all answers would be appreciated,

Thanks,

I don't know of anywhere that you can bank cord blood for free, but I have banked cord blood with AlphaCord, and also donated cord blood. We banked our daughter's cord blood back in 2003 and have been storing it ever since. It was about $1000 for the initial storage (freezing, testing etc.). Now we have an annual storage fee that is under $100. I can give you more details and information if you wish. Feel free to email me. melissa@intermountainhealinghearts.org

I bet you talked to Rebecca Cason (rebeccacason1@yahoo.com). I was talking with her as well about her experience with cord blood banking and I remember that she mentioned a few of these things to me, though I would love to have them posted here to jog my memory!

Good Luck!
