Update on the new CICU

I had a meeting today at PCMC as part of my involvement in the hospital's Family Advisory Council. I was given some info about the new CICU that I thought might interest some of you. A few months ago, I asked for feedback from the group regarding the entrance to the CICU. Well, the hospital administrators listened to our concerns and recommendations and have decided to design the CICU with it's own entrance completely separate from the PICU. Inside the entrance to the CICU, there will also be a desk staffed with hospital personnel. The CICU is scheduled to be finished sometime this upcoming fall. I was asked to tell the members of IHH, "thank you" for the feedback. It's so nice to know that the hospital administrators take our suggestions to heart and try their best to accommodate our needs.
