My daughter (9 mo) gets sores on her feet from the oxygen monitor. She needs to have it on all the time. I've started trying to put duo-derm between her skin and the plastic parts. She still gets awful sores & blisters. Today she must have been kicking the plastic hard against the floor. She has a chunk of skin missing!

Has anyone else had to deal with this? Our monitor is from Praxair. I think they said to change the position of the monitor every hour.....but that's just not possible.

Summer has a cold right now. We really have to have the monitor on at all times. We appreciate any input. Thanks

We had Sam on pulse ox constantly when he was tiny, and we used the tan-colored sensors and had no problems with blisters as long as we changed position a couple of times a day. When he had his last surgery, we had to monitor him very closely again, but because he was bigger and more active, we used a different type of sensor, and he got blisters all the time. We went back to the neonate sensors, just putting them on his toe instead of his whole foot. They didn't stay on as well, but it was more comfortable for him. Moral of the story... Can you get ahold of different sensors?

When Emma was in the hospital, they changed the possition every 3 hours, maybe you could try that and see if there is improvement.
